Before having an accident in January 2014, the Aston Martin was in an absolutely first-class condition with only 1. 825 miles on the counter. The Vanquish had 9 full services with Aston Martin main dealers. The value, by Aston Martin Works, was on 19 September 2013 estimated at GBP 95. 000, 00, “seen its exceptional condition and unique specification”.
On 14 October 2002 a new car order form was filled in at Murray Motor Company for the purchase of this Vanquish. Original colour combination Stronsay Silver with Bordeaux leather. After signing the contract, the first owner changed his mind several times about the colour combination.
In January 2003 the Vanquish, in the colour combination Stronsay Silver with Pacific Blue interior, was delivered.
After some limited use, the first owner of chassis number 500700 did not really like the factory delivered colour of Stronsay Silver, neither did he like the semi-automatic transmission. He also disapproved of the handling and the braking of the Vanquish. So he had the Vanquish upgraded at Aston Martin Works to the 2007 S Specification. For instance DPS suspension was fitted during the conversion, larger brake discs, shorter steering rack, magnesium wheels and also a manual 6 speed transmission.
A chrome pack was fitted to grills and vents, the dash leather was matched to the seats. The crystal start button was replaced by a red one.
Aston Martin Works was also instructed to take #500700 back to a rolling shell and respray it in Mendip Midnight Blue metallic.
The Aston Martin itself costed GBP 158. 000 when new in 2003 and between that date/ 2006, a GBP 90. 000 was spent on service work and conversions. This brought the price tag up to a staggering GBP 248. 000!!
Aston Martin Works informed the second owner that this Vanquish is one of less than 5 RHD vehicles with this kind of specification.
The first owner drove the Vanquish for only 1. 625 miles, the second owner added just a mere 200 miles before the accident.
As the second owner described to Noble House, the accident was not his fault. He was just at the wrong time on the wrong place. Someone else changed lanes on a motorway unexpectedly and the owner of the Vanquish tried to avoid the other driver on the overtaking lane. The Vanquish skidded on to the wet grass in the central reservation, the car spun around, hitting the crash barrier on the side and in the rear.
It is a unique, one-off vehicle, but because it is a Category D Salvage Vanquish, we sell it in parts.
The Vanquish does have a valid English registration.
It looks like that the manual transmission kit is already sold!
