This year's Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show will follow the theme of 'The Big Screen', it was announced this week. The show will take place from 14-16 November at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham.
Traditionally, owners' clubs go all-out to embrace the theme by decorating their cars, stands – and sometimes themselves – in line with the event's suggestion. The 2014 choice offers huge scope for creative enthusiasts with countless classics starring on TV and in film, but the organisers are also keen to see stands reflecting famous posters, billboards and even advertisements.
Event director Dan Nwaokolo told C&SC: "We're really excited by the theme for this year's show. There are so many great instances where classics have appeared on the big screen. The possibilities are endless and we can't wait to see how the clubs interpret this year's theme.
"There's also an influx of classic motoring TV shows at the moment, with more to come, so it will be great for enthusiasts to get to see those cars restored on the small screen at close proximity – if only to assure them of the quality of work carried out. The chance to inspect these vehicles and talk to the stars of the shows will be fantastic for our visitors."
