Vauxhall
VAUXHALL TYPE I TWELVE-FOUR

Saloon.

Short-lived revival of pre-war unitary 12/4 with 102ins wheelbase and six-light bodyshell. Post-war cars identical to '39 model save for new 1940-type grille. Torsion-bar front suspension, hydraulic brakes, umbrella-handle handbrake, and three-on-the-flour. Tough engine, 65mph and 35mpg, but - like all Vauxhalls of the era - a rust trap. Genuine post-war examples exceedingly rare.
