Vauxhall
VAUXHALL J FOURTEEN-SIX

Saloon.

Structure and suspension as for H- and I-types, though this bigger six-light car has a projecting boot and all-synchro 'box. Subtle bonnet-louvre and grille changes distinguish post-war cars, plus some rather nasty bits of plastic on the dash. Forget all about handling, and put up with those camshaft-driven wipers, a Vauxhall disease for nearly 20 years. If you can find a rust-free one, the performance will surprise you - nearly 75mph and 28mpg.
