DE TOMASO DEAUVILLE

4-door 5-seater saloon.

Almost a straight styling copy of Jaguar's XJ6, except for less adroit front end, with separate pods for four headlamps. Ford-Detroit power up-front mated to Ford automatic 'box, and all-round discs and coil spring independent suspension. Style by Ghia - who should have been sued for plagiarism - and engineering by Dallara. Sales never more than 100 a year at first, fell right away by late seventies, with no development taking place. Almost unknown in Britain, but then why would anyone have bothered at £19,600 by 1979!
