Fiat

Fiat
FIAT 128 (1968-84)

2-door/4-door 4-seater saloon/estate.

The original Fiat 'Supermini' (after their 'Autobianchi' Primula of years earlier). Rust-prone like all sixties Fiats, but mechanically elegant, setting standards for many other marques. All-new for seventies, including overhead cam, end-on gearbox, and all-independent suspension. In very boxy style, basically unchanged for 15 years. Famous mainly for bequeathing components to X1/9, and for forming basis of Strada which followed. 'Rally' version from 1971 had large engine but very 'boy racer'.
