FORD CORTINA-LOTUS MKII

2-door 4-seater saloon.

Direct replacement for original Lotus-Cortina, using new MkII body shell. One major different - MkII built by Ford at Dagenham, not by Lotus at Cheshunt. 105mph top speed from 106bhp engine, plus stirring road performance. Only seriously used 1967-68 as competition car, then supplanted by Escort Twin-Cam which used same running gear. Even better trimmed and behaved in later years, and it sold better than original version (more reliable!). Still under-rated today.
