Same underpan, suspension and basic layout as MkIII, but squarer styling. No 2000E derivative, and Ghia badly as top option. Extra power for some with German 2.3-litre V6 engine, good for 110mph if pressed. Enormous sales success, of course, but less character than ever. Displaced by mildly restyled MkV by 1980.
