JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES III
2-door 2-seater roadster, 2+2 seater coupé.
E-type restored to supercar performance with V12 engine shoehorned into existing structure. From outside, recognise by flared wheel arches and grille in front air intake. Both cars built on longer (105ins) wheelbase floorpan, and many with automatic transmission. Wire wheels still optional, but not frequently fitted. With four Zenith-Strombergs it was rated 272bhp, top speed was back to near 150mph and 0-100mph down to 15secs. Unkindly described as 'new wine in old bottle'. OF last 50 cars, 49 were open two-seaters, had plaques on facia and were funeral black in colour. The end to a great racing-inspired strain of Jaguar.
