LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK IV

2-door 4-seater hardtop coupé.

Longer, lower, wider and heavier (more than 5000lb) than Mk III, still with same sharp styling. As before, based on Thunderbird, and big 7.5-litre engine retained, 'de-tuned' by emission control to 200bhp (net) by mid-seventies. This time, entire basic body shell also shared with T-Bird, too. In spite of energy crisis, sold even better than Mark III, averaging 50,000/60,000 a year. Incidentally, 3ins longer wheelbase, but less passenger space than before.
