Monteverdi

Monteverdi
MONTEVERDI HAI 450SS/450GTS

2-door 2-seater sports coupé.

Before Ferrari and Maserati, Monteverdi offered a mid-engined supercar, with simple tubular frame and rounded body-style, by Monteverdi himself, though built by Fissore. Power of 340bhp by courtesy of Chrysler Hemi engine, linked to ZF gearbox, and 180mph top speed claimed, but no British magazine ever tried one. Crude chassis but well-equipped cockpit (including air-conditioning). Few made, and even fewer survive. Are any still in Britain?
