NSU PRINZ 1000/1000C

2-door 4-seater saloon.

The Prinz grown up, with longer wheelbase and more passenger space, and light-alloy four-cylinder engine transversely mounted at the rear. One of a complete family based on this layout, in this version with 40bhp (DIN) and 80-plus top speed. Advanced in some ways (all-synchro box), but crude in others (most with drum brakes, all with hard ride and simple ventilation), yet good value for money. Surprisingly good handling, helped (like Imp) by light-alloy engine.
