OPEL KADETT RALLYE COUPE

2-door 4-seater fastback coupé.

More desirable version of Kadett, still with same coupé-style sheet metal but with 60bhp 1.1-litre or 90bhp 1.9-litre (Rekord-type) engine from the start, front disc brakes and radial ply tyres as standard; 1.2-litre engine for 1972 and 1973. Most UK-sold examples had 1.9-litres. This was Opel's first 'works-blessed' rally car, made successful by Swedish drivers. Most were identifiable by special colour schemes, including side stripes and matt black bonnets.
