2-door/4-door 5-seater saloon/estate car.

Long-running modern generation of Rekords, also built as the Vauxhall Carlton in UK, with style very similar to Ascona of the period. Classic front engine/rear drive/MacPherson strut front suspension range. Completely different body from superseded 1972-77 Rekords. Family II 1.8-litre engine option for '83, and 2.2-litre 'cam-in-head' for 1985. Choice of diesel engines, and petrol power from 60 to 110bhp (with fuel injection) in seventies.
