PORSCHE 911 (2.7-litre and 3.0-litre)

2-door 4-seater coupé/Targa convertible.

Further development of 911s, with year-on-year evolutionary changes, ever widening wheels, more and more tamed handling, but same basic style. 2.7-litre first arrived on 210bhp Carrera, but spread across the board from late 1973 (when Carreras became 3.0-litres and 230bhp). 2.7-litre series-production then lasted to late '77, when 3.0-litre took over. All engines with Bosch injection, some (rare in UK) wit Sportomatic, gradually sprouting flared wheel arches, front spoilers, energy-absorbing bumpers, etc. Rear spoilers on all Carreras, and many 3.0-litre SCs from late '77 to customer option. Base bhp pushed up from 150bhp (1974) to 180bhp (1978 model), and 204bhp for 1981. Top speeds, by this time, over 140mph. Replaced by 3164cc for '84.
