TOYOTA COROLLA 1100

2-door/4-door 4-seater saloon/estate car/coupé.

The first-ever type of Corolla, which Toyota now claim is the best seling car (well, model name!) in the world today. As with all such Japanese cars, a strictly conventional front engine/rear driver model, aping - say - the Escorts and Vivas of the day. Very boring Rising Sun 'grey porridge' with drum brakes, cart-spring rear suspension but - surprisingly - an automatic option from mid-1968. Coupés not sold in the UK. This KE10 series replaced by the KE20s for the seventies.
