TOYOTA CORONA 2000 MK II

4-door 5-seater saloon/estate car, 2-door 5-seater fastback coupé.

Confusingly named model, produced alongside existing Toyotas, but with longer (191.8ins) wheelbase floorpan, all coil spring suspension, and six-cylinder engine top-options for some markets. Cortina/Victor sized and specified, with very similar performance, though all UK deliveries had single-cam 2.0-litre engines and about 100mph. Many with optional automatic transmission. Four headlamps, slight 'Coke-bottle' style to rear quarters, but yet another utterly conventional car from Japan.
