TRIUMPH TR7 V8

2-door 2-seater hardtop coupé.

Extremely rare 'homologation special' derivative of TR7, produced by BL Motorsport at Abingdon well before the near-identical TR8 went on sale. First rally cars were converted TR6s, all had much-tuned (up to 300bhp) Rover V8s and allied five-speed transmissions. No de-tuned road cars sold, and all rally cars had four-wheel disc brakes, fat alloy wheels and major rear suspension location changes. A successful tarmac-surface rally car, only used for three seasons.
