Vauxhall
VAUXHALL VICTOR 1600/2000 (FD TYPE)

4-door 5-seater saloon/estate car.

A rarity even for 1967, this was an all-new car - monocoque, overhead-cam engines, the lot. For the day, a pretty car, fast and relatively good handling, but rattly, poor quality of build, and horribly rust prone. Almost all with four-speed transmission and front discs (never standard on 1600s), some with overdrive or automatic, both optional. In theory, the FDs were better cars than competing Mk 2 Cortinas, but the customers never saw it that way. No classic status, deservedly.
