Amilcar

Amilcar
AMILCAR COMPOUND (HOTCHKISS-AMILCAR TEN)

Roadster, cabriolet, 2-door saloon.

J.A.Grégoire creation with Alpax unitary structure, four-speed synchro-'box in front of the engine, rack and pinion steering and all-independent suspension, with torsion bars at the rear. Suddenly it's 1955... until you look at that nasty cable gear linkage, cable brakes, and an engine allegedly cribbed from the Hillman Minx. 1940's better ohv version appeared post-war (though not in Britain) as a Belgian Imperia. British versions Hotchkiss-badged.
