FORD Y 8HP (1932-33)
Tudor saloon, Fordor saloon.
First true European Ford, and inspiration for the Morris 8. The usual transverse suspension and mechanical brakes, but three speeds with synchro, rear tank, and mechanical pump feed. Capable of nearly 60mph. Early cars (to late summer of '33) recognisable by heavily slanted screens, tapering radiator grilles, unskirted wings and central instruments. Fordors rare, and later cars commoner and cheaper.
