Lincoln
LINCOLN ZEPHYR (1936-37)

2-door sedan, 4-door sedan, 3-passenger coupé, town limousine.

Publicity material claimed this to be revolutionary, but in reality it wasn't. The engine was derived from the Ford V8, suspension was by transverse leaf springs, and there were mechanical brakes. Unitary construction was an innovation, as was the Tjaarda/Briggs fastback styling with alligator hood and lamps faired into the front wings. 85 to 90mph possible, but they had a poor reliability record. '37 cars have different bumpers and a body accent line.
