Marmon
MARMON ROOSEVELT

4-passenger coupé, 4-passenger convertible coupé, 5-passenger sedan, 2-passenger coupé.

Unbelievably cheap straight eight (£395 for the saloon), imported as a Roosevelt in '29 and a Marmon R in 1930. '29 cars have a striking rad emblem, depicting the American President, '30 cars don't. All have Bendix servo brakes, a 112ins wheelbase, semi-elliptic springs all round, spiral bevel rear axle, six-volt electrics and a three speed 'box. Idiosyncratic Marmon central control (for lamps, horn and starter motor) mounted on steering wheel. Some were imported; you got a lot of car for your money.
