MARMON SIXTEEN

5-passenger sedan, 7-passenger sedan, 5-passenger close coupled sedan, 5-passenger convertible sedan, 5-passenger coupé, 2-passenger coupé, convertible coupé, limousine, numerous customs.

What a way to go! Marmon's swansong (they folded in '33) was this 200bhp, 145ins wheelbase monster. The engine, all aluminium with valves operated by a single cam via pushrods, is a work of art. Chassis has a mere seven-cross members, semi-elliptics all round, roller cam steering, servo brakes (and 16ins drums) and there's a 29 gallon tank. 'Box is three-speed synchro unit. 100mph possible in virtual silence, and nearly all the bodies are lovely. Doubtful if any imported, and they fetch big money nowadays.
