MERCEDES-BENZ SSKL

2-seater sports.

Leicht (light) version of the SSK, this one has a liberally drilled chassis frame in an attempt to reduce weight and was fitted with the large "Elephant' blower to give a factory figure of 265bhp at a lazy 3300rpm. Carraciola defeated hordes of Alfas to win the '31 Mille Miglia, and also won the '31 German GP in the pouring rain. A couple of streamliners were built, although nobody's quite sure just how many SSKL's were made.
