MORRIS ISIS (1930-31)

Saloon, 4-seater tourer, club coupé.

Morris's top Six, when introduced in July 1929 as the replacement for the Morris-Sox (née Light Six). New chassis, with Bishop cam-and-peg steering and, for the first time on a Morris, Lockheed hydraulic brakes. Transmission brake for 1930 only. Same ohc 17.7hp engines as before - this the work of Morris Engines and apparently produced the suggestion of Cecil Kimber, who used it in revised form in the MG 18/80. New all-steel saloon body pressed from Budd dies, hence its American looks, and shared with Dodge and Ruxton sedans as well as with rare Wolseley Messenger. Tourer and Club coupé complete range. A better car than the Morris-Six and an export success. Relatively scarce.
