MORRIS TEN/TWELVE SERIES II

Saloon, special coupé.

First of Leonard Lord's 'Specialisation-built' Series models introduced in May 1935. Ten with same engine as its predecessor, Twelve with unrelated 1548cc unit, as introduced for '34 Cowley. Both share same body, available only as saloon or special coupé and considerably sleeker than the rather stodgy offerings from Longbridge. Three-speed 'box at first (a retrograde step), with four-speeder as option from end of '36 and standard from February '37. Easiclean wheels from end of '36. Fastback lines, two-tone colour schemes and stylised dashboards with square instruments are typical mid-thirties.
