Opel
OPEL OLYMPIA (1936-37)

Saloon, cabriolet.

The Third Reich didn't encourage inspiring cars for the masses, and this one was pretty dull as well. But for £155 in this country you got a 60mph small car of unit construction with Dubonnet type ifs and four-speed synchromesh 'box. Headlights were faired into bonnet, the cabrio had convenient fold back roof, but against were austere finish and indifferent Bendix brakes; the low price was a result of the Third Reich's insatiable demand for English currency.
