Renault
RENAULT CELTAQUATRE (1936-39)

Saloon, sliding head saloon, 2/3-seater coupé, 4/5-seater coupé.

Until the outbreak of war, Renault persisted with two bearings, mechanical brakes, that outmoded rear suspension, six-volt electrics, thermo siphon cooling, but there was a synchro 'box with central control. Up to '38 it came on a 1041/2ins wheelbase frame, thereafter on a 107ins wheelbase, while '38 models looked a lot less attractive than their predecessors, with built out boots, ugly vee-grilles and more heavily skirted wings, while pressed steel wheels were standard.
