STANDARD FLYING V8

Saloon de luxe.

The British answer to the 22hp Ford. Engine was in effect two Ten blocks on a common crankcase, and gave enough horsepower to propel the machine at 80mph, which was much too fast for the chassis... Mechanical brakes were fitted as was a central control four speed 'box, there was a right hand handbrake, and all V8s had fencer's mask grilles. One neat touch was the V-VIII motif in Roman figures to get around Ford's V8 trademark. Some survive.
