Studebaker

Studebaker
STUDEBAKER CHAMPION

4-door 6-light saloon.

A venture back into the lower middle class field, this time with a really compact 'six' on a 1121/2ins wheelbase which undersold all competitors bar one over the pond. Styling by Loewy was crisp and clean, and the car featured column change, clutch pedal starting, hypoid final drive and Studebaker's transverse ifs. All this cost a mere £299 and would manage 80mph - how many British cars could do that?
