Founded by Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia, Italy’s National Automobile Museum boasts nearly 200 historic vehicles and offers visitors a fascinating overview of the history of motoring, from the earliest pioneers through to cutting-edge concepts. Among the incredible vehicles on display are the 1929 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A that starred in Sunset Boulevard, the one-off gas turbine-powered Fiat Turbina and the stunning 1907 Itala, which took victory in the inaugural Peking to Paris and is currently celebrating its 110th anniversary.
The museum enjoyed a full refurbishment in 2011, increasing its exhibition space from 11,000 square metres to more than 19,000 square metres. We paid a visit to the new-look museum and rounded up a selection of our favourite cars. Here they are!
