Tens of thousands of enthusiasts enjoyed glorious sunshine for the third and final day of the Silverstone Classic.
With the traffic nightmares of Saturday considerably eased, and far less queuing time for the classic buses around the circuit there was a superb atmosphere throughout.
As with all days, the club stands are the stars of the off-track action with more than 7000 classics in show. Quite apart from the mind-boggling number of E-types, there were superb displays from more than 120 other clubs. Whether the clubs were displaying just a few rarities (Marcos) or a massed ranked of cars (Mazda MX-5) there was plenty for everyone to enjoy.
Stand-outs included the Historic BMW line-up of 328s – also in their anniversary year – which was the buzz of the grandstands. The hidden jewel though was the Allards (main image), a phenomenal display sadly wedged between the catch-fencing and row of trader marquees, but those who found it were left breathless.
Following Saturday's E-type record attempt, there was a Sunday parade of a brilliant mix of representatives from the classic car clubs.
