A brace of Le Mans racers, a Tojeiro Ford and an ex-works Aston Martin DB3S were on display at Fiskens’ recent open day in London.
The Kensington-based dealer capitalised on the influx of collectors and enthusiasts for the annual London to Brighton Veteran Car Run on 6 November to allow visitors to admire its stock for the two previous days.
Highlights included two Ecurie Ecosse racers: a 1964 Tojerio Ford and the 1985 C2, which was named after Henry Ford and finished second overall in the C2 World Sportscar Championship that year, driven by Ray Mallock, David Leslie and Mike Wilds, among others.
Also on display was a Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-9. The sixth and final example built by TWR, it was raced in 1988 by Johnny Dumfries and Jan Lammers – with the latter notching up a second place in the Spa 1000km with Martin Brundle.
arlier racers on show included a 1957 DB3S, the last of 11 factory competition cars, which was supplied to American Rod Carveth. He competed at Watkins Glen, Elkhart Lake, Laguna Seca and Nassau - as well as Bathurst in Australia.
Fiskens’ pre-war offerings featured a 1928 Bentley 4 ½-litre Tourer boasting a well-documented and continuous history from new.
