Two stunning barnfinds are set to storm Brightwells’ auction when they go on sale on 18 July.
The first, a 3 Litre six-cylinder Lagonda saloon, was owned by the same family for more than 60 years and was last used in 1963. It had lain dormant in an allotment for several months before being moved undercover. The car is totally complete and will cross the blocks with an estimate of £20-25,000.
The second find, a Rolls-Royce Phantom III, was once owned by Angus Ogilvy the British businessman who married the Queen’s first cousin, Princess Alexandria of Kent. The 1930s 7340cc saloon was the first Rolls to be fitted with a V12 engine.
This example was subject to a full-chassis restoration around 30 years ago bringing it back to near-concours condition, before having its body refitted. Sadly, it has been stored in a damp shed ever since. The saloon has been estimated at £26-30,000.
