Exotic metal will be out in force at Syon Park for Salon Privé from 5-7 September.
Making its first appearance since the 1965 Geneva Motorshow is a 1965 Alvis ‘Super’ Cabriolet. It is one of three constructed by Swiss Coachbuilder, Hermann Graber.
A recently restored 1967 Lotus 47 GT will also reappear after 30 years under wraps. Based on the Europa, the 47 GT used a 180bhp twin-cam Cosworth engine, with Tecalemit fuel injection, coupled to a Hewland FT2000 five-speed gearbox. In the late ’70s the car was clocked at 181mph.
Among the Ferraris will be a 1950 166 Barchetta and a 166 Inter Coupé. The latter competed at the Targa Florio and the Mille Miglia – and is one of only 25 with a body styled by Carrozzeria Touring.
Meanwhile, vintage fans will be catered for by King George V’s 1923 Daimler ‘Royal Four’ Limousine, so called because the King commissioned seven cars to be built to his own specification and four of those were placed into service.
