A recreation of the first-ever French steam locomotive will be one of the star attractions at Rétromobile in Paris from 6-10 February.
Presented by Rétromobile, Eiffage Rail and the Association pour la Reconstruction et la Préservation du Patrimoine Industriel, the clone of Marc Seguin's pioneering 1829 feat of engineering will be regularly fired up and run during the show.
The recreation is the result of a seven-year educational project by engineering tutor Gaston Monnier and his pupils.
Monnier, founder of the Association pour la Reconstruction et la Préservation du Patrimoine Industriel (ARPPI), worked from period sketches, texts and engravings.
