The Elliott Museum – which features more than 50 Ford Model A commercials – is once again open to the public in Stuart, Florida, after a $20million refurbishment.
Many of the exhibits are on display for the first time, including a United Parcel Service early delivery truck, a folding-roof pick-up designed for use under fruit-heavy citrus trees during harvest and an extremely rare Model AA school bus.
The vast collection covers every possible variant of the mass-produced classic from fire engines to ambulances, tow trucks, delivery lorries and cabs.
Thanks to a large donation from lifelong collector Elliott R Donnelley, the museum itself is state of the art. It features a fully automated three-storey stacking system that allows visitors to select an exhibit, listen to a multi-media presentation on their chosen ‘A’, then view the vehicle on a revolving turntable.
