Vauxhall’s 30-98 will celebrate turning 100 when around 50 examples tackle the Waddington Fell Hill Climb from 1-4 May.
The company’s own vehicle will join cars from the Vauxhall 30-98 Register as the model returns to the place where it made its motor sport debut.
Public roads that formed the old course will be closed and the event is expected to attract participants from as far afield as Australia and the US.
Described as ‘the car of grace that sets the pace’, the 30-98 achieved the fastest time of the day on its first outing at the Waddington Hill Climb in 1913 and is claimed (by Vauxhall) to be the planet’s first 100mph production car.
May’s meet is the first of many appearances for Vauxhall’s legendary machine this year.
Other events where it will be on show include Brooklands Double Twelve (15-16 June), The 30-98 Centenary Run (5 July), CarFest North (2-4 August) and CarFest South (August 23-25).
