A 40-strong group of Italian art students took part in a competition to produce the poster image for the 19th Vernasca Silver Flag Hill Climb.
The 17 to 19-year olds from Liceo Artistico Statale “Bruno Cassinari” in Piacenza, Italy, celebrated Lancia in their paintings and, although they could research the subject in advance, had just four hours to complete their works.
On 1 February, a range of Lancias were driven into the main square in Piacenza as subjects and two more – including the 1972 Monte Carlo Rally-winning Fulvia HF – were placed inside a local bank, where the students set up an impromptu studio.
Andrea Vetrucci's winning entry – below, selected by judges and a public vote – featured three famous Lancias and also the towns of Castell’Arquato and Vernasca.
