This year's Motorsport at the Palace event will rewind the clock to 1971, the year that Mike Crabtree, Gerry Marshall and Martin Thomas kept avid racing fans to their TVs during an epic race-long battle in the Osram Saloon car race.
The sprint revival, which takes place on 25-26 May, is set in the grounds of the Crystal Palace (which burned to the ground in 1936) and utilises what is left of the once glorious circuit.
The London venue will play host to the Ford Escort Mk1 RS1600 that Crabtree campaigned in that race, with the man himself again getting behind the wheel. The Chevrolet Camaro of Martin Thomas will also be present, while an exact replica of Gerry Marshall's Vauxhall Viva GT will also make an appearance.
In addition, other period racers will also be on display including George Whitehead's WRA Anglia and a Ford Cortina Mk2, driven by Jon Doubleday.
That famous 1971 battle is still etched in the memory of Mike Crabtree: "When I watch this race on YouTube I still get sweaty palms, even after 43 years. My car sustained more dents in that race that I had gathered throughout the whole season."
The paddock will be fully open to the public, allowing visitors to inspect the cars on show while also mingling with the drivers and mechanics.
