A massive stand of Maseratis will headline the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC from 14-16 November to mark the Modena firm's centenary. Event organisers have been working in conjunction with the Maserati Club to ensure that no fewer than 21 iconic examples make the journey to Birmingham.
Among the cars expected to take part is Nick Mason's 250F. Originally fitted with a V12 engine – and driven by Fangio during practice for the 1957 Monaco GP – it was sold to America, where it was fitted with a V8 before eventually falling into disrepair. It has since been fully restored.
Other competition rarities include a T61 Birdcage, Cooper Maserati and a 200S – one of just 28 examples built. Some of the firm's most well-loved road cars will also be making an appearance, including the Merak, Khamsin, Ghibli and Mistral Spyder.
Maserati Club stand organiser David Daw said: "We've gathered the most diverse and wide ranging line-up for our celebrations, showcasing the marque's racing heritage."
