A 1994 Jaguar XJ220 that once belonged to the Brunei Royal Family will be sold at Silverstone Auctions' NEC Classic Motor Show sale on 15 November. It is expected to sell for as much as £220,000.
The car was hand-built by TWR in 1991 before being exported to Brunei three years later. It remained in the family's care for eight years, covering a paltry 1412 miles during their stewardship.
It returned to the United Kingdom in 2002, when it was purchased by a champagne dealer before being passed to the current owner.
"These incredibly rare cars are one of our favourite super cars of all time," said Nick Whale, managing director of Silverstone Auctions. "This is a fantastic example with a great history and very low mileage. It's such a stunning design that still looks good nearly 25 years on.
"These cars are beginning to catch the attention of collectors across the globe and we predict that values will continue to climb over the coming years," added Whale.
The pampered lifestyle enjoyed by the Jaguar in its early life continued after repatriation, and it has less than 6000 miles on the clock. There are MoT certificates dating back to 2002, and recent maintenance has been carried out by model specialist Don Law Racing.
