The 73rd Goodwood Members' Meeting will be brought to life on 21-22 March by the screaming engines one of sports car racing's most evocative eras. A number of Group C racers are expected to take to the circuit during the exclusive meeting, with 15 cars committed at this early stage.
Among the marques to be represented is Jaguar, with the XJR-9, XJR-11 and XJR-12 cars already confirmed. The cars are set to be driven on demonstration laps of the circuit by Martin Brundle, Derek Warwick and Jan Lammers.
A pair of Martini-liveried Lancia LC2s, including Bob Wollek's 1984 Le Mans pole-taker, are also expected to attend, along with the ex-Steve O'Rourke EMKA Aston Martin that briefly led at La Sarthe in 1985 at the hands of Tiff Needell.
A Toyota TS010 – examples of which broke the lap record at Le Mans in 1992 and '93 – will get an airing, as will a brace of Mercedes-Benz C11s.
Of course, no Group C demonstration would be complete without a handful of Stuttgart's finest exports. With seven Le Mans victories between them (including the Dauer 962 in 1994), the Porsche 956 and 962 will be a surefire hit with the crowd.
Mark Blundell's Nissan R90CK and a number of C1 designs will also appear.
