The 20th Anniversary of one of the last true road cars to win the Le Mans 24 Hours – the McLaren F1 GTR – will be marked at the 73rd Goodwood Members' Meeting on 21-22 March.
A colossal display of 15 F1 GTRs – an example of which took top honours at Le Mans in the model's debut year – is expected to take to the track, with the number of entrants likely to increase in the coming months.
As well as taking victory at La Sarthe, the F1 GTR also won back-to-back crowns in the Global Endurance Championship, with further success enjoyed by the later 'long-tail' variant.
Derek Bell's Harrods-liveried car, in which he and his son Justin finished third at Le Mans in '95, is one of the many high-profile cars already confirmed.
Indy 500 winner and Goodwood regular Kenny Brack is due to drive an ex-Parabolica Motorsport 'long-tail' car, while a similar example that nearly brought the Swede fastest time of the day at last year's Festival of Speed will also take to the track.
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason may be better associated with the Maserati 250F, but he also has an un-raced development F1 GTR in his garage, and will be driving it at the meeting.
