A trio of Le Mans Spitfires is set to excite at the Coventry Motofest, which takes place from 29-31 May. The cars are expected to take to the track for demonstration runs as well as forming part of the classic static display, and includes ‘ADU 18’ – one of the original four Spitfires to run at La Sarthe in 1964.
The racer was restored by Northamptonshire-based Jigsaw Racing, which has also built two replicas of cars that took part in the 1964 and ’65 races.
“We are very excited to announce Jigsaw Racing’s Le Mans Triumph Spitfires at Motofest 2015,” said festival director James Noble.
“It’s a rare treat to have them taking part on a motoring event and those attending Motofest 2015 will get the opportunity to see these iconic vehicles being put through their paces on our track.”
“With the Spitfires now confirmed and a range of other vehicles registered, the classic car line-up is starting to look really strong for the Saturday and Sunday.
“We really want to reinforce that offering and so we are urging as many classic car enthusiasts as possible to register their interest in joining us in a truly great celebration of classic heritage motoring.”
