Vintage racers are expected to flock to Silverstone from 24-26 July to take part in a brand-new pre-war grid that will honour one of the most famous Bentley Boys, Glen Kidston.
At least nine vintage Bentleys are expected to compete in the race, including the 41/2 Litre Le Mans of Stanley Mann, plus a pair of 3 Litre cars dating from 1924 – the oldest in the field.
The well-prepared Invicta S Type of Chris and Nick Ball should be towards the front of the pack, in addition to Gareth Burnett and Richard Evans’ Alta Sports and the Alvis Speed 20 SA of Rudi Friedrichs – a car in which he has clocked up more than 150,000 miles.
Also tipped to perform well is the Frazer-Nash Supersports of Fred Wakeman and Patrick Blakeney-Edwards, which is one of seven examples of the marque thought to be attending.
