A trio of star F1 cars will be one of the headline attractions at thus year’s Sywell Pistons & Props, which will take place on 26-27 September at Sywell Aerodrome.
A 1992 Benetton B192, a 1977 Hesketh 308E and a 2002 Jordan EJ12 will take part in a barnstorming demonstration of their performance on the event’s Racing Runway.
The 1977 Hesketh 308E is powered by a 3-litre Cosworth DFV V8 and belongs to Graham Williams, who maintains the car himself. The model is Hesketh’s last Formula One design and competed in the 1977 season wearing its infamous Penthouse/Rizla livery.
It will be joined by a Benetton B192 that was driven by Michael Schumacher during the 1992 World Championship, and which now belongs to former multiple BWRDC champion Lorina McLaughlin. The car delivered Benetton third place in the Contructors’ Championship in period.
The final car in the lineup – a 2002 Jorden EJ12 – was driven to fifth place in the Monaco Grand Prix at the hands of Giancarlo Fisichella, and is the first of its type to be built.
Each car is slated for two high-speed runs along the runway, while overhead, visitors will be treated to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, plus a display of WW1 fighter aircraft.
Adult tickets start from £18, with free entry for those under five years old.
