Time is running out to join the Classic & Sports Car editorial team's migratory, blue-smoke wreathed pilgrimage to the home of historic endurance racing from 7-11 July 2016 – but there's still time to book your place.
Port’s Land-Rover, MacLeman’s MGB GT and Evans’ Citroen GSA will line up with the rest of the team’s classics at Portsmouth, from where we will sail overnight to France – the perfect opportunity to get together for a drink in the bar before you retire to your private cabin.
Once we get to Caen, we’ll set off on a winding tour of northern France’s country lanes, following a bespoke roadbook charting the most picturesque route to Le Mans, including a breakfast stop, naturally. There’ll be loads of time to pick up supplies at the supermarché before setting up camp at the Porsche Curves, which boasts its own showers, toilets and private security, plus unparalleled access to the circuit.
As well as crossings and top-notch camping, you’ll also get general entry, paddock and grandstand passes to make sure you’re in the heart of the action, plus we’ll make a special trip out to the famous Hotel de France, tracing the route used by the Aston Martin DBR1s and Ford GT40s to get to and from the 24 hour race.
