More than 55,000 visitors, 300 exhibitors and 600 classics cars filed into Spain’s Fire de Barcelona fairground from 4-7 December for the 32nd annual AutoRetro show, while more than 2000 classic cars were driven to the event, with a further 200 taking part in a tour of the Montjuic old circuit.
Among the automotive stars of the show were classics spanning every era of motoring, with origins nearly as broad. A 1935 Delahaye 135M was parked near a Jaguar XK140, while a 1957 Aston Martin DB2/4 was joined by competition variants of Mercedes’ 190SL and Porsche’s 911.
Elsewhere, visitors were drawn to a Messerschmitt 201 and 1957 Isetta, while Italy was well represented by a stunning Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale and a number of Fiats.
A 1908 Renault 11HP, which is owned by the city of Barcelona and known to locals as ‘Genoveva’ was one of the oldest cars on display, though it was beaten to the accolade by a Peugeot quadricycle from eight years earlier.
A number of historic motorcycles were also put on show, including a Montessa Kenya and a 1972 Yamaha 634A, the first bike with which the Japanese manufacturer won a World Championship Grand Prix.
